This morning we drove to Hertz just passed Clinton NJ on US-22 West and picked up our rental car for the trip! It’s a Nissan Rogue! It’s a fun car to drive. We just finished installing the web cam on the dash. There was an unforeseen issue with the camera. There’s too much glare from the sun! We came up with the idea to place the lens of a old pair of sunglasses in front of the camera! It works great! Just used some scotch tape to hold the lens in place!!! Check out the pic (little hard to see through the windshield but you can still make it out…) Web Cam with Sunglasses!

We’re All Set… Just About!
Filed under: Cross Country, Random Bits;No CommentsWe’re almost ready to go! Paula has her Bar exams next week, and Friday, we go pick up the rental car for the trip across the country! The Eee PC (Netbook) is all setup with Verizon Wireless Broadband and a Microsoft LiveCam (WebCam) which will be mounted on the dash of the car, and will automatically snap pictures of our trip every couple of minutes! I also finished writing the Perl script that will automatically create thumbnails and upload the full pics along with the thumbnails in real-time as the Web Cam automatically takes snaps! Lily’s stay at the Morris Animal Inn is all set, supposively it is the most posh doggie hotel in the area. She will have her own bedroom (not a crate/cage) with a TV, and she will also have Pool and swimming lessons every other day! The Cameras are already packed, and I also reblasted the PC I’m giving to our godson in Sacramento when we arrive there. We already purchased a new 23-in wide screen Acer LCD monitor from Tigerdirect and had them ship it to their house ahead of us. Just one less thing to pack in the car! ;) We also bought a new TomTom XL 330s GPS, for the updated maps and the wide screen. Got it on sale from Tiger as well! :) I love that site! The only thing we have left to do is pack our clothes, which Paula has already been starting to put on the side.
