With the 10th anniversary of RogueLogic coming up, I thought it would be nice to quickly go over the evolution of the RogueLogic logos since the birth of my moniker in 1999:

    1. The original RogueLogic Logo created back in 1999 when I founded the company…

    2. This is the second version of the logo. I used this version, when I briefly changed the background color of the website from white to black.

    3. This is the current version of the RogueLogic Logo. I originally created this version back in 2001, when I was taking a Web Design Class.

The planning for the cross country trip has at least accomplished one official thing. I officially took off two weeks of vacation between Saturday August 1st and Monday August 17th. The actually time off from the office is Monday August 3rd and returning to the office on Monday August 17th. The next item to secure for the trip is getting someone to dog-sit Lily. We are thinking about getting someone to house sit for us. Either one of my cousins or someone from Paula’s family. We started sending email to potential house sitters out today.

Interested in house sitting for us? Here’s some cool stuff about the house :) ~

You would have the entire house to yourself, you will have your own spare bedroom. We will also be leaving our Toyota Camry in the driveway for you to use locally. There’s full-premium-channel cable TV and wireless Internet plus the 52in tv in the living room is hooked up to a computer with windows Vista for Internet access right from the TV with a bluetooth wireless keyboard and mouse. Also the telephone is unlimited domestic calls as well. We will also be stocking the house with food and drinks for you. There’s also access to the community pool.

Interested? Let us know! ;) Trusted Family and Friends Only… ;)

Over dinner at Virgils BBQ in Time Square, Paula and I decided to take two weeks at the beginning of August of this year and drive across the country! I can’t wait! I’m so excited! We are updating our trip plan which I have on this blog as “Cross Country Driving Expedition 1″ as we speak. I will be letting my boss Mike know about the vacation plans this coming Monday. We are also going to start booking the hotels and speaking with the Rental Car companies to work out the details! Stay tuned to the blog for updates! :) We will also be blogging our trip both here on RogueLogic and on Facebook in real-time as we make our way across the country!

Cross Country Driving Expedition 1 ~

Expedition Mission Statement: To drive from Bridgewater, New Jersey to Sacramento, California; visiting many of the country’s cities in route, on or near I-80 and I-70…

Expedition Status: Planning Phase (Last Update: Saturday, July 25, 2009)

Round Trip Notice: Because of vacation time limits, we will only be driving in the direction of the east coast to the west coast. Once in California, we will take a flight back to the east coast to complete the trip. This will cut the time it will take to complete the trip. We will be limited by work, so we will only be able to take a couple of weeks off, to go on this trip.

Vehicle: To be determined. However, we would like to rent a car and drive it across country; leaving the car in California, so we can simply take a flight back to the east coast.

New Jersey Departure Date: August 1, 2009

    Total Mileage: Approximately 3,156 miles

East Coast -> West Coast Driving Duration: 11 Days

    Round Trip Duration: 12 Days

Total Cost: A Lot… (Not including food and entertainment, etc…)

Participants: Robert Ilardi and Paula Anglo-Ilardi.

Reason? This is something I, always wanted to do! And as people in both my and Paula’s life move further and further away from NYC (including ourselves), I feel the need to do this even more so… I want to see what’s really out there (especially in the mid-west, it is a black hole to me, other than what you see in the media, and I’m not one to take TV, Movies, and News at face-value…), and hopefully get a better understanding why NYC isn’t the only place to be. I could never move too far away from NYC, but I want to understand why some people can… Paula and I have been all over the world, including some places that you would never expect (thanks to exchange programs), and I feel that I can NOT have our own back-yard (the US mid-west) to remain the unknown, a black hole in our traveling knowledge…

I decided to import some old posts I wrote as Notes on Facebook or as Pages on IlardiNet.com. Some of them like “One Billion Seconds” are pretty interesting and I wanted to include them on my Blog. I also marked them as “published” on the original dates that I wrote them on my previous blog sites. Enjoy!

    Moving Day!

    Filed under: Blog Info;

After about a year of using Facebook’s Note and Wall features as my primary “blog”, I decided to move out, back to my original home of RogueLogic.com. I enabled the WordPress Blog feature on my Yahoo Small Business Web Hosting account, and will now be using this site as my primary blog. As my wife, Paula suggested to me last night, as I post new and interesting articles, I probably should add a link to them on my Facebook Wall. I think it’s a good idea. I still like Facebook, but it’s a little too limiting to be used as a true blog.
